Wow! Summertime is blowing by. That heat wave we just had was brutal! But, I’m also speaking as someone who wishes the weather could stay at 70 degrees! :) It’s such a wonderful time of year, lots of flowers in bloom outside. And with the spring arriving late this year, it’s just prolonging the blooming of some beautiful local flowers, like zinnias and dahlias!

With summer coming to an end, it doesn’t mean that your space has to be without flowers. BiZi Bee Floral, your local Seattle florist, delivers! From Alstromerias to Zinnias, we’ve got you covered!

We’re having an end of summer special that has all locally grown flowers delivered to your door for no more than $35! Flowers are a treat. Do you know someone deserving?

Here we are: Wedding Season.  I can tell you that I am so very thrilled to be doing some awesome weddings this summer.  Wedding work is definately a favorite of mine.  It’s such a wonderful time to be involved with some amazing clients!  Being in love is unto itself..and for me, I get to help express your love on a very important day..your wedding day!

Being that BiZi Bee deals with organic, VeriFlora certified and local product, I like to incorporate these into the wedding events that I do.  I was sad to learn, on a recent outing to my local farms (Bothell and Woodinville), that the planting season came a little later than anticipated this year.  We had such a long winter and late Spring that many of my farms weren’t able to plant their crops until late May instead of late April as they usually do.

What this means for you: those wonderful flowers like amaranthus, dahlias, zinnia, and the like won’t be available (locally) until late July early August.  But, don’t fret…we can still get these flowers (they may be a little more costly than usual) from other places..mainly California and Canada.  So, my advice to you, if your planning  a June or July wedding, make sure to talk to your florist (I am availble to take questions via the phone as well: 206-883-5522) about the best flowers that will be available and if you have your heart set on local product only, then August and September would be awesome months to be married, as this is when most of the great locally grown flowers will be coming out.

Peonies and calla lillies that are locally grown, are nearing their end in late June this year.  They’re available from other sources until about the first few days of july.  I can tell you that the delphinium and freesia are gorgeous right now!

I have a gorgeous wedding that I will be doing this weekend for Megan and Josh that is a green “Green” wedding..meaning the flowers that are being used are that fantastic lime green colors and creams, they’re Veriflora certified and the containers for the centerpieces are totally recyclable and made from recycled materials (they’re called BlumeBoxes!)  I look forward to posting the pics on the site for all to see.

I hope this helped you out a little.  Please feel free to email me from here or give me a call.  My name is Heather and I would love to hear from you!  206-883-5522
