Hi!  For all you out there, my name is Heather, owner of BiZi Bee Floral in Seattle.  I began my journey in the floral industry about 13 years ago.  I was a new mom, newly divorced, and desperately needed a job.  I was living with my mother at the time.  On a whim, we went for a drive.  We drove through a parking lot and saw a “Help Wanted” sign in the window of this little floral shop.  She parked the car, I walked in and talked to the manager, filled out the application, and went home.    Little did I know, that the seed had been planted, and this is where I was to grow until the time came to be transferred to a bigger pot, only to grow and strengthen so that one day I may become very well rooted, with the ability to give my gift to others.

Over the next 10 years, I worked for the same little flower shop.  Starting as a driver and working my way up through the ranks to finally managing my own store (there were 7 shops!).  I gained a lot of experience and did all the tasks, and really loved every minute of it…even the dreaded holidays.  I reached a point where I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!  I raised my son in while in this industry, married a wonderful man while in this industry, lost loved ones while in this industry, I’ve made great friends while in this industry,  and I’ve lost friends while in this industry.  I’ve really lived doing what I love and loving what I do!

So, when I walked into my sons school the other day and saw a bouquet of flowers on the front counter, the kind that are bought at your local grocery store, something inside of me just snapped!  One by one, locally owned mom and pop shops are going out of business, closing their doors.  They’ve had to stop doing what they love, because, let’s face it, the instant gratification society that we live in, like their super market flowers!  They like the convenience of it.  I get that.  Heck, I buy microwave meals.  But, when I want the real deal, a nice dinner prepared by somebody who knows what their doing, do I go to my freezer and pop one of those bad boys into the microwave?!  NO!  I go to a restaurant and have it prepared by someone who knows what they’re doing and has a passion for it!  It makes all the difference!

Flower’s are not a necessity.  I understand that.  BUT, flowers can affect the mood of the people who receive them, they can brighten the office and make staff more productive, flowers can bring a smile to anyone’s face and make them have a better day, flowers have a secret language all their own…especially when they’re prepared by someone who loves their job and loves to bring a smile to your special someones face!  Flowers are awesome!  I support my family with this little flower shop, my son’s birthday is right around the corner, he is the light of my life.  I hope that some day, he will be as passionate about his job as I am about mine!

So, when you’re strolling through the super market/grocery store, you pass by those pretty blooms, remember…when you support your local florist, you’re supporting a local family!  Without you, people like me couldn’t exsist, our experience and knowledge would be lost.  One person, does make a difference, to ensure my family can eat for the night and still have a roof over their head…just one person!  You don’t even need to go out of your way, just give me a call: 206-883-5522 or go online: bizibeefloral.com  We deliver!

I promise, you won’t regret it and we will be eternally grateful!

I’ve had the pleasure, recently, to deliver a gorgeous fall colored bouquet of fresh flowers for a client that found us via the web. Because BiZi Bee is a studio floral shop, the web (bizibeefloral.com) and phone (206-883-5522) are the best ways to place an order with me. BiZi Bee used to be located in a retail storefront, which as you know, can generate a lot of overhead. With our new model (studio), we’re able to keep our prices very reasonable and offer the same great service we always have. And offer the freshest product out there, since we do buy from local farms and direct from the growers. Organic and Veriflora certified products.

But, back to the topic of “Birthday” flowers. I know that there are those among us that are somewhat like me. I always want my birthday to be the most special. Even if I work, I still want my loved ones to remember me on this day…even if I’m getting older! :) From cards to a nice dinner out, flowers are always a great way to recognize that special someone on their special day! We all want to feel special and to know that someone remembered that ?? years ago, we were born and in knowing us it makes their life a little better. Say it with flowers and a card. Let them know that you care!

So, give me a call and I’ll be able to help you figure out what flowers will help you say “Happy Birthday”!

I’ve had the great opportunity to visit our local farms these past few weeks.  I have to say that the colors of the gorgeous dahlias and zinnias are so vibrant, one look and you’re happy for the rest of the day!  From magenta to pink, orange to red, verigated varieties galore, any fresh flower bouquet that arrives using delivery of BiZi Bee Floral, your local Seattle florist, will have the recipient thanking you for days!

So, if you want to brighten someone’s day, say “thank you”, or “you’re on my mind”, give me (Heather) a call:206-883-5522 and we can discuss your myriad of options for making life a little easier for you and help you spread the love through flowers.

It just seems that within a blink of an eye, summer is half over. BiZi Bee, your local Seattle florist, has been busy with so many wonderful events this summer. From Grand Openings to large business events to weddings, we seem to be part of some awesome occassions! Nothing is too big or too small to have us help put that special touch into an event you’ve been planning.

I recently had the opportunity to do some gorgeous arrangements with white hydrangea, white stock, white roses, white freesia and gardenias for a elegant summer wedding shower. Thank you Carla, for calling on us!

There was also the BizJam event that we did some awesome green, black and white arrangements for Biznik, which happens to be a phenomenal business networking group! Thank you Lara and Dan!

And then, the weddings. I hope to get some pics onto the site for you to see. For one, I stayed up for a full 24 hours to make sure it was as gorgeous as anticipated with pink hydrangeas, roses, freesia, faux cherry blossoms, curly willow…I have to say, it was some of my most favorite work yet. Congrats Maria and Wendall!

Congrats to Megan and Josh for having BiZi Bee be part of your big day! They chose to have their wedding on the Skansonia. Gorgeous location! It’s an old ferry boat turned into venue. Very charming and earthy. We did organic locally grown flowers and VeriFlora certified flowers for their wedding along with recyclable containers. BiZi Bee really is all about sustainability and Mother Earth….even before it was cool!

The colors chosen for Julia and Sam were gorgeous reds, lime greens and a hint of lavender. I have to say…it was gorgeous! With dahlias (hard to come by as of last week due to a late winter), lime green fuji mums, red gerberas, red roses, belles of ireland, red spray roses, and lavender freesia…this was a truly spectacular wedding for a young couple so vibrant and full of life! Congrats Julia and Sam! With a special thanks to Judy and Pastor Jon!

Congrats to Charlene and Adam! This was a very simple affair…with cream calla lilies and cream roses. Very elegant and understated, but still wonderful to be part of!

I, Heather, wish you all the best! Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of your special day! And remember, if you ever have any questions about event florals or wedding florals, please don’t hesitate to call me at: 206-883-5522

Here we are: Wedding Season.  I can tell you that I am so very thrilled to be doing some awesome weddings this summer.  Wedding work is definately a favorite of mine.  It’s such a wonderful time to be involved with some amazing clients!  Being in love is unto itself..and for me, I get to help express your love on a very important day..your wedding day!

Being that BiZi Bee deals with organic, VeriFlora certified and local product, I like to incorporate these into the wedding events that I do.  I was sad to learn, on a recent outing to my local farms (Bothell and Woodinville), that the planting season came a little later than anticipated this year.  We had such a long winter and late Spring that many of my farms weren’t able to plant their crops until late May instead of late April as they usually do.

What this means for you: those wonderful flowers like amaranthus, dahlias, zinnia, and the like won’t be available (locally) until late July early August.  But, don’t fret…we can still get these flowers (they may be a little more costly than usual) from other places..mainly California and Canada.  So, my advice to you, if your planning  a June or July wedding, make sure to talk to your florist (I am availble to take questions via the phone as well: 206-883-5522) about the best flowers that will be available and if you have your heart set on local product only, then August and September would be awesome months to be married, as this is when most of the great locally grown flowers will be coming out.

Peonies and calla lillies that are locally grown, are nearing their end in late June this year.  They’re available from other sources until about the first few days of july.  I can tell you that the delphinium and freesia are gorgeous right now!

I have a gorgeous wedding that I will be doing this weekend for Megan and Josh that is a green “Green” wedding..meaning the flowers that are being used are that fantastic lime green colors and creams, they’re Veriflora certified and the containers for the centerpieces are totally recyclable and made from recycled materials (they’re called BlumeBoxes!)  I look forward to posting the pics on the site for all to see.

I hope this helped you out a little.  Please feel free to email me from here or give me a call.  My name is Heather and I would love to hear from you!  206-883-5522
