Here we are: Wedding Season.  I can tell you that I am so very thrilled to be doing some awesome weddings this summer.  Wedding work is definately a favorite of mine.  It’s such a wonderful time to be involved with some amazing clients!  Being in love is unto itself..and for me, I get to help express your love on a very important day..your wedding day!

Being that BiZi Bee deals with organic, VeriFlora certified and local product, I like to incorporate these into the wedding events that I do.  I was sad to learn, on a recent outing to my local farms (Bothell and Woodinville), that the planting season came a little later than anticipated this year.  We had such a long winter and late Spring that many of my farms weren’t able to plant their crops until late May instead of late April as they usually do.

What this means for you: those wonderful flowers like amaranthus, dahlias, zinnia, and the like won’t be available (locally) until late July early August.  But, don’t fret…we can still get these flowers (they may be a little more costly than usual) from other places..mainly California and Canada.  So, my advice to you, if your planning  a June or July wedding, make sure to talk to your florist (I am availble to take questions via the phone as well: 206-883-5522) about the best flowers that will be available and if you have your heart set on local product only, then August and September would be awesome months to be married, as this is when most of the great locally grown flowers will be coming out.

Peonies and calla lillies that are locally grown, are nearing their end in late June this year.  They’re available from other sources until about the first few days of july.  I can tell you that the delphinium and freesia are gorgeous right now!

I have a gorgeous wedding that I will be doing this weekend for Megan and Josh that is a green “Green” wedding..meaning the flowers that are being used are that fantastic lime green colors and creams, they’re Veriflora certified and the containers for the centerpieces are totally recyclable and made from recycled materials (they’re called BlumeBoxes!)  I look forward to posting the pics on the site for all to see.

I hope this helped you out a little.  Please feel free to email me from here or give me a call.  My name is Heather and I would love to hear from you!  206-883-5522

BiZi Bee Floral located in Lake City is moving!  Don’t fret though!  We’ll be just a mile away from our previous location and still offering terrific fresh flowers (Veriflora certified and from environmentally friendly and socially conscious production) with great customer service!

As you may know, BiZi Bee is a local family run (husband and wife + child) business .  It is our passion for our clients that has led us to take a new path.  We had been in our old location for 2 years, sacrificing everything that we had to be there.  At some point, we needed to take inventory and ask ourselves, “what can we do better to make sure our clients are getting the best service and freshest flowers?”  Considering that 90% of our business is phone and internet led us to the answer: A smaller, more organized location that would be benefitial to YOU (our client) and for us.

Along the way, we have made many friends and have had the opportunity to serve many wonderful customers.  We love this area and will be offering the same great service and best prices on grower direct flowers!  There are no middle men.  We order direct from socially responsible growers and have the flowers sent directly to us.  This will provide our customers with the best available and longest lasting product = happy customers!

I hope you’ll come see us at: 10015 Lake City Way #125; Seattle, WA 98125.  We’ll be located in the ActiveSpace building acros from Trikke cycle and the Spaghetti House on Lake City Way.
